Came across Darren Rowse post on Problogger dated July 27, 2008- If you only had one hour a day to blog what would you spend it doing? A curious reader, who’s probably multi-tasking or was doing some random unfocused web activities asked this question. He likewise mentioned to have limited time accessing the net but wanted to come out with a successful blog.
Yes, it can be done my friends. I’m a newbie, started posting 4 weeks ago. With 30 posts to date i practically write 1 blog a day. There are days when it takes me half an hour from writing to publishing. Here’s how I do it.
I use Stickies (that’s where Im writing now) on my Macbook. Yes the post-it piece of paper we use to jot down notes and things to do. This one however is electronic and downloadable. I don’t know about you but writing on post it or stickies eliminates the dreaded pressure to produce a neat blog. I don’t get overwhelmed either. It’s like writing things-to-do or notes on a piece of paper. Just double click on what you wrote, copy, go to your blog dashboard and paste it. Make sure you don’t forget the publish button.
You don’t always have to start writing by going to the dashboard. You know why? Things like stats and comments will distract you. If you want to have a content then be focused and intentional with your writing. Check the rest of the items on your dashboard once you’re done and pleased with your post.
If you have enough time you may also want to add a photo from your file or Google image to spice up your blog.
Let me know if it works for you or if you have other suggestions and experiences you might want to share.
